Welcome to MELLOW MELODY in the historic Uptown neighborhood, less than four blocks from the lake in a full amenities building! Whether you're looking for a night in with your sweetheart, or a night out with your friends – Uptown has historic architecture, music, nightlife, and unique multi-cultural cuisine to enjoy! After a day out exploring, head back to the home and visit the boxing gym, indoor pool, and full bar, right inside the building! Business or pleasure, you've found the perfect spot!

The space

Sleeping Arrangements
Living Room - pull out sleeper sofa (queen)
Loft - 1 Queen bed

The sleeping area of the home is lofted and accessed only via ladder. We recommend that children under the age of 13 and people with mobility concerns sleep on the pullout sofa. Also note the ceiling height from the bed in the photos of the loft.

Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pants, utensils, silverware, plates, bowls, cups, knives, a cutting board, salt and pepper, a coffee maker, and cream and sugar – for however you take it.

Cleaning Supplies
You’re supplied with dish soap, a sponge, dish detergent and paper towels.

Washer/Dryer
There is a washer/dryer in unit. We provide you with detergent for your stay!

TV
The Roku guide is posted next to the TV. There is also a digital antenna for local channels. Please remember to sign out of any of any Roku apps you’ve utilize during
your stay.

Non-Smoking
The home and entire building is designated as a smoke-free community. There will be a $500 fee imposed if you choose to smoke in unit or the building. Please respect our policy and step outside.

Parking
There is no dedicated parking space for the home. We recommend using apps like SpotHero to locate discounted street or garage spots nearby.

Guest access

You will have access to all of the building's beautiful and unique amenities. All of which include a gorgeous gym, stunning pool, and beautiful outdoor area with fire pit.

Interaction with guests

We are off-site but available when needed. The best way to reach us is by emailing [email protected]! In case of maintenance emergency, the in-unit home guide will detail phone numbers of who to call immediately.

Luggage Hold
If your travel arrangements have you arriving earlier or leaving later than our designated check in / check out times, we recommend using Wait Here Chicago. We have a partnership with them and can offer you discounted rates on their luggage hold options throughout the city.

Pets
There is a $25/pet per booking fee.

We know that all dogs are good dogs but the building's breed restrictions are listed below. There are no weight restrictions, but if your buddy falls under one of these categories unfortunately we wouldn't be able to host them: Pit Bull, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Shaffordshire Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Chow Chow, Akita, Presa Canario and /or Wolf Hybrids.

While we trust that your pet plays well with others, we know that accidents happen. In the event of an issue involving your pet, you will be required to provide up to date vaccination records and will be fully liable for any medical, veterinary, or property damages incurred.

General Rules
-Absolutely no smoking is permitted anywhere inside the home or any outdoor areas. There will be a $500 fee imposed if we receive a complaint or find evidence of smoking in the home.
-Please treat the home as if it is your own.
-Please respect our guest limit capacity of 4 people.
-Do not engage in illegal activities anywhere on the property.
-If you accidentally damage anything during your stay, please contact the host for your safety and the future safety of the next guest.
-We pride ourselves on being green and would appreciate you turning off the TV and lights when you check-out.
-Please remember to sign out of any ROKU apps you utilized via your personal accounts before departing.

Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are between 10p-8a.
This is a residential building and ask that for the respect of permanent tenants basic courtesies of being mindful of your noise levels and not congregating in hallways outside of the unit be observed.

Receiving a noise complaint from the building can result in the forfeiture of your stay.

No Smoking
The home (and entire building) is designated as a strictly smoke-free community. There will be a $500 fee imposed if you choose to smoke in the unit or any of the outdoor common areas. Please respect our policy and step outside the vicinity.

Key Card
The key card is your way of accessing everything from your short-stay apartment to the amenity spaces in the building. If you happen to lose your key card, you will be charged $75. We are not a hotel so they are not disposable! Thanks for your cooperation!

Security
Please be advised that the building exterior and common spaces are equipped with surveillance devices. Please respect the building and its community.

Emergencies
Contact your host immediately with any issues. An emergency maintenance number is provided in the home guide for any building issues that involve water or hazards in the home.

Great view, great service, nice environment, seemingly safe area, easily accessible, very close to the subway station, very convenient! Only thing I wasn’t thrilled about was that I couldn’t enjoy a cigar on the rooftop due to no smoking rules

This was by far the best place I have been lucky enough to stay in so far with my travels. It was so easy to check-in/check-out, completely no-stress, and felt truly like a home away from home. It was luxurious but was still within our budget, it felt more safe and secure than a hotel, they were so communicative and explained everything so well, we didn’t even really need to worry about a thing. We honestly can’t wait till we can visit here again. Would recommend planning your trip to be longer if you want to explore outside more because it’ll be hard to want to leave the building. Definitely download the parking app for an extended lot with-in a 7-8 min walk either direction, and utilize public transport, or walk!

The most amazing airbnb I have stayed in. It is close to all the attractions by car. Parking was a bit of a hassle but not a dealbreaker. Very cool lobby & amenities. The space was very thoughtfully put together. Do not hesitate to book!

This place is lovely. I spent 5 nights here on a work trip. Very clean. Excellently decorated with stylish simplistic elements. Great natural light and nice indoor lighting. Kitchen was well-stocked with supplies so I was able to make my work per diem go even further by going to the grocery store and cooking meals at the flat. I found myself splitting my time between the loft and the pull-out couch. Bed in loft was SOO comfy and cozy (loft space maybe a bit tight for larger person)- perfect for when you need a good night’s rest. The pull-out couch was great for nights when I wanted to fall asleep in front of the TV and could sleep in the next day. The gym and pool on the basement level are great- though I wished the pool were a bit more heated. Gym had great equipment and was decent-sized. Rooftop lounge area is again, decorated in a perfect simplistic stylish, and charming way. Lobby area is a great common space to lounge or work. The coffee shop is great, and there’s also a bar and a diner. My only issue was a noise complaint that I contacted my hosts about (it was between 2-2:45am that the noises woke me up so of course I didn’t hear back immediately) It sounded like people were moving furniture in and drilling things to their walls... In the middle of the night. Some people are just super inconsiderate nightowls. I would absolutely stay here again, and again. It was perfect for me as a non-driver and bldg felt very safe. Close to transportation, walkable to various shops, (Target, Mariano’s) If I ever move to Chicago I’ll be looking to lease in this building for sure.

Really lovely, stylish space in a fun building! Hosts were super responsive to small issues (e.g. a missing blanket) and addressed inquiries right away in a friendly and professional manner. Neighbors were a bit noisy on our last night, but otherwise the building was beautifully maintained and quiet. Very convenient for any uptown adventures and really close to the L for getting around the city. Thank you, Short Stay!

Loved the location, I have never stayed this far north in Chicago. The area was trending with historic landmarks in walking distance, 25 minute walk to Wrigley Field. But what was really awesome was the complex had a bar downstairs, a rooftop lounge, a coffee shop, and a trending dinner next door that served amazing food. Definitely recommended this spot. Regarding Short Stay, I will absolutely look for their airbnbs in the future when traveling back to Chicago because they provided so much detail and ease with checking in process, and they respond promptly. That is not very common.

Very accurate description. Loft bedroom area was a bit Scary as i hit my head trying to get off the bed. I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed the entire trip. Great area and loved the coffee shop, bar, and diner downstairs! Very clean place with great amenities!

I loved how stylish it was and how we had access to the amazing rooftop lounge, pool, patio, etc. The lobby was really cool too, I just loved the whole aesthetic of the place. It was also really close to the red line which was really convenient.

Great location for my groups needs, as well as a great decor.. the hot water sometimes took upwards of ten minutes to heat up. Older building and plumbing so I’m assuming that’s the issue. Apartment only came with enough large bath towels for two people despite the unit being advertised as a maximum of four people. Ended up having to to wash and dry towels twice during our stay. No real issues with anything else!

The place was really nice and the location was great, super close to downtown. The building seemed a bit old because of how slow the elevators were which was kind of a big deal for me but that’s only because I hate elevators, other than that everything was great. I’ll recommend

I felt right at home in this place. It’s clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. It has a great location, too! So close to the Lawrence train stop that you can easily zip into town on the L. Since the couch was right below the AC, it felt wonderful to sit there after a long day out and about in the warm weather. It was so comfy, in fact, I ended up sleeping on it! The unit is a nice short walk to the lake and you can see how close you are from the side window. The rooftop area in the building is really nice- a great lounging area with a fantastic view. Make sure you stop up there before you leave. I would definitely stay here again if I am in Chicago!

I really enjoyed my stay at Mellow Melody. The place looks exactly as pictured and was so clean and cozy. The location was not too far from the magnificent mile either! Great place to stay if you’re visiting Chicago from out of town, or are simply looking to do a staycation.

This space is clean and modern with a few fun stylish flares. The amenities in the building are great! Coffee shop, bar, rooftop hangout area. Location is close to a red line station, and it’s also easy to get an Uber anywhere. We selected this space largely because there were two of us and we wanted two beds, which it has if you use the sofa bed. A bit of a surprise to us was how low the ceiling is above the loft, which made it a bit tricky to get up and down from, and it’s not functional for anything other than sleeping. The hosts are helpful and responsive if you have questions.

Mellow Melody is a stylish, adorable, clean loft apartment! The building itself is also so neat and we loved having a coffee shop and diner right on the ground level. Perfect place for a Chicago getaway!
