Value
This is a fantastic deal for a chic space in an excellent area. For our first visit to Chicago, it did not get better than staying in a refurbished synagogue in a Vietnamese neighborhood. Easy walking distance to amazing, authentic Asian cuisine, a well-stocked liquor store (seriously, they had a favorite wine of mine ON SALE), and convenient to the L. Could not have asked for a better experience.

super comfy and aesthetically pleasing!!! the window was our favorite part!!!

The unit was incredible, in a wonderful neighborhood with great food all around. Would absolutely stay here again.

Unit was beautiful . Bed VERY comfy and a really GREAT hot shower!

Great location close to subway line on the north side. Interesting use of an old building and stylish accommodations make for a very pleasant stay.

Incredible space. Plan to book this space again in my future trips to Chicago.

Very cute little studio! It was nice, clean and had cute touches to it. Located in/near little Vietnam- which has many pho restaurants around! A 9 minute walk to the riviera to who ever is looking for a place near by the venue. A public parking is only less than 9 minutes away as well. Check in was easy, tho you’d have to climb some stairs but that’s okay. 5/5 stars :)

This is an incredible find, and if you’re lucky enough to book it, make sure you have some evenings to savor the simple, clean beauty of the space thoroughly. Very high ceilings, huge picturesque window, comfy bed what’s not to love? I hope to come back here in my next visit!

A wonderful place to stay in a beautifully renovated synagogue! Very clean with all the amenities I needed!

Great spot and super easy to get to the L train. Thin walls so you can hear when people are walking in the hallway. Super easy check in and check out. Parking is easy with SpotHero. Walk at night with someone cause it can be sketchy otherwise place is easy to commute and walking 15 mins will get you to a street filled with stores and restaurants.

Apartment is inside a remodeled synagogue. Inside was as pictured. Basic amenities provided. Full little kitchen complete with dishwasher, stove, and toaster. We did not cook any meals but there is a great little Italian grocery store around the corner where you could easily take some groceries back and cook yourself a four course meal if you wanted. Bathroom had a nice size shower and a washer and dryer was also provided. There is one bed when you walk in and the couch pulls out to a bed. My friend slept on the pull out couch and she loved it. I slept in the bed and it was one of the best sleeps I’ve had, mattress was super comfy. Had a big window in the living/kitchen area but no view really worth looking at since it bumped up against another building. The apartment is in a great little area. You are only a few blocks away from the L and the lake with great running paths. We came for the Chicago marathon and I loved the easy access to the lakefront to run. Grocery store down the street as well as lots of Vietnamese restaurants. Loved the pho! Overall this is a great little place if you don’t have to be right in the hub of downtown. Lyft rides to the city took maybe 20 min with traffic.

Shower and kitchen were not clean. Shower had hair and residual soap/shampoo from previous guest. Additionally, looked like they just brushed the dirt under the bed to quickly prep the apartment for the next guests. Superficially cleaned. Host did have cleaning company come back through. Location was great. Quick access to the L and restaurants.

It is beautiful and well worth the money!

Great place with an interesting history. Communication was seamless. The neighborhood was full of great restaurants. Very comfortable space.

The space was cute and stylish and the building felt nice and secure. We were sad to see that there was not a list of places to eat/things to do in the area. There is an amazing brunch place (Tweet) and a nice little coffee shop (Heritage Outpost) just a few minutes away. If you're a light sleeper, this is not the place for you, the halls echo quite loudly. Which was a problem one night, but not the other.

Everything was wonderful. The place was incredibly clean and comfortable. It exceeded my expectations on all accounts. My only negative comment relates to the building (and is certainly out of the Airbnb host's control). I was on crutches during my stay and while the building was beautiful and has a fascinating history, the spiral staircase to the 2nd apartment was tricky to navigate. The building does not have an elevator. That is something I should've inquired about ahead of time and which the apartment owners have no control over. But its worth noting that this property may be tricky for people who have mobility issues. Otherwise, I 100% recommend.

I loved staying here! The building is very cute, and so is the studio. Decorated nicely, great light and very clean and new. The neighborhood itself wasn't my favorite... I wouldn't have felt safe walking around at night by myself. But if you're taking ubers everywhere then it's not really an issue. They had a great little coffee station and a washer and dryer with detergent which was great. Also loved how easy entry/check-in was and the studio is decorated so cute!

Great place to stay in Chicago! Super clean, comfortable, and safe. Easy to get pretty much anywhere in Chicago from this location. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location close to bars, restaurants, shops, public transportation and the beach.

You can’t go wrong here. The place is lovely, and it is located at Vietnam town, with great food all around. A nice add on: the neighbors are awesome.

Enjoyed our stay! Building is very quiet and clean.

My friend and I had an amazing stay at this perfectly located, gorgeous property. It was so clean and increasingly well set up for cooking, sleeping and enjoying the space. We really enjoyed the area with lots of good restaurants and running paths with it being so close to the lake and a train station. It was extremely quiet and the building was so unique. There is a little nook in the entrance that tells you about the history and renovation of the synagogue which was incredibly unique. I would absolutely stay here again!

The house's clean and comfortable. Great experience!

Such a cool place! Beautiful studio apartment with high ceilings that comfortably sleeps 2 (there’s a nice sofa that converts to a second bed). All the necessary amenities. The building is in a converted synagogue and is just a neat place to walk around and spend time in. We loved to neighborhood - lots of Vietnamese restaurants and is only a couple blocks from a red line train stop. The hosts are super responsive to any questions. Highly recommend A+!

Our overnight stay was worth it. I especially enjoyed the small corner on the main floor of the building dedicated to the history of the building, which used to be a synagogue. Just an interesting part of Chicago history and of the Jewish community. The apartment was thoughtfully decorated and cozy, overall. We also had an opportunity to explore the neighborhood, Uptown, home of late John “Vietnam” Nguyen, RIP: (Website hidden by Airbnb) A few suggestions to eat at in Uptown are Le's Pho and Bingo Tea. A bit further north we also had he opportunity to eat at Farm Barn and Gordo's, also located within walking distance from the Loyola University campus where you can also walk through and sit by Lake Michigan. Something about being near a body of water, especially under good weather can be medicinal. I would definitely come back.

We loved our visit in this apartment! The building is beautiful and the neighbors were nice! We loved that the apartments were gated! Can't wait to visit again!

All I can say is... WOW! This place was perfect. It was perfect for two people who enjoyed the city life for a couple days. Amazing room and super trendy. We have nothing but good things to say about this place and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Chicago. We will definitely be back to the Windy City and will only book with this location again!

Awesome location! Within thirty minutes of everything we wanted to do! Would recommend to anyone visiting Chicago!

I loved staying here - the place is amazing. The building (a former synagogue) has been converted with style and nuance, with care for the original details. The apartment is super nicely designed and furnished, with full amenities - I have never stayed in a place that is so well equipped: There's no appliance, kitchen tool, or gadget that this place doesn't have! The building seems to have been renovated recently so everything is brand new... The kitchen is really fabulously stocked, with olive oil and teas and a really wonderful spice rack - providing all the different spices is such a thoughtful gesture, as the lack of spices is so often what prevents you from cooking in rental apartments... Really quick (as in, immediate) response to any communication and swift action re maintenance and service. I stayed in the apartment 11 days and my stay was without a glitch. Absolutely no suggestions for how things might be improved as everything has been taken into account and addressed. This place has everything, is stylish and comfortable, and the management and maintenance teams are on top of things. A lovely tree-lined neighborhood, and an easy access to downtown on the L. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay! Beautiful building and location could not be better.

Our stay was great. The apartment was extremely clean. The location has plenty of great food options close by and easy access to the interstate to get to navy pier, Wrigley and downtown. The apartment building has great character and accents. I would note that the walls and floor are thin and able to hear everything above and in the hallway. There didn’t seem to be much outside noise. The location seemed safe and free street parking was limited but was available for us. Accents and apartment seemed to be newly renovated and wasn’t 100%sure what to expect for this exact room but felt confident after reading reviews.
