The space

Built in the mid-1920s, The Ardus building has been revamped to accommodate 149 apartments with amenities abound. You may enjoy our rooftop deck and lounge, fitness club, updated lobby which extends into a Heritage coffee and bike repair shop, and bike storage plus the added benefits that come along with being a Livly Short Stay guest.

This giant 3br duplex will make you feel like you're living in a stand-alone home in the middle of the city! Kick back on the couch and watch the smart TV, complete with basic cable and ROKU for you to sign into your own Netflix or Hulu accounts during your stay.

The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, silverware, plates, bowls, cups, knives, a cutting board, salt and pepper, olive oil, black tea and honey. There are great markets nearby if you feel the culinary inspiration. Lightly caffeinated seltzer is also in the fridge for you to enjoy. Every room is supplied with a french press coffee maker, coffee, and cream and sugar – for however you take it.

You and your guests will enjoy three separate bedrooms, three with queen sized beds! All three are the perfect place to relax in a bright and spacious duplexed bedroom with plenty of closet space to unpack, even if you're only here for a few days.

Bring culinary inspiration to life on your private deck with outdoor grilling station!

The fitness center is equipped with free weights, strength training and cardio machines, you don’t have to skip leg day on your vacation (if you don’t want to). Personal training sessions and Group fitness classes are available upon request, please contact your host for additional information.

Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are between 10p-8a.
This is a residential building and ask that for the respect of permanent tenants basic courtesies of being mindful of your noise levels and not congregating in hallways outside of the unit be observed.

Please be advised that this home is equipped with NoiseAware. NoiseAware works like a smoke detector, but for noise. The sensor tracks the decibel levels in this home, evaluates other risk factors and will send an alert if there are excess noise levels detected. Please do not unplug the device.

Receiving a noise complaint from the building or the device can result in the forfeiture of your stay and a $1000 fine.

No Smoking
The home (and entire building including outdoor common areas) is designated as a strictly smoke-free community. There will be a $500 fee imposed if you choose to smoke in the building. Please respect our policy and step outside the vicinity.

Key Fob
The key fob is your way of accessing everything from your short-stay apartment to the amenity spaces in the building. If you happen to lose your key fob, you will be charged $75.

Beautiful, well appointed 3 bedroom apartment. Great location near restaurants, shopping, the Mile and business district. Lots to do and easy to get around if you enjoy walking. There is a terrific little coffee shop in the lobby and lots of people had small dogs. Buyer beware, however because the cost of this stay was 63% more than the listed, due to cleaning fee, service fee and taxes.

We booked for a family (5) Thanksgiving weekend and it was perfect! Adult children + 1’s and the sleeping arrangements were just right. Had good bonding, tech free time which was something to be thankful for. Wish weather had been better to enjoy deck but will try to book again for a warmer weather stay. Everything was clean, well appointed and meet all our needs. Thanks Short Stay for a great experience!

Stunning unit and such a great location. Lots of great restaurants and sites nearby. During warm weather it would have been wonderful to spend time on the gorgeous terrace. Overall a very positive experience. Really loved the vibe of the coffee shop in the lobby — it always smelled great and lots of young people using it for a casual work spot.

This Airbnb was totally worth the price. My best friends and I came to Chicago for a wedding, and we all couldn't have been more pleased with the Airbnb. This place has the whole package; location was perfect, the place was spotlessly clean, and all of the beds (including the pullout couch) was comfortable. The bathroom on the main floor didn't work upon check-in, but the hosts responded as soon as I messaged them, and quickly fixed the light while we were out exploring Chicago. Heritage coffee is on the main floor of this building, which was a huge plus as well.

Beautiful apartment, furnished with everything needed, clean, very spacious and modern with 3 BR and 2.5 restrooms! Wonderful balcony with a table for 6 and a barbecue. Spectacular view from 2 BR and from the living room. Amazing location, few steps away from Magnificent Mile and from metro to downtown and Millenium and Grant Park. The building has a comfortable gym and rooftop open to all guests. Checkin and checkout was really easy and completely automated. Communication with the host super fast.

By far and away the best Air Bnb we’ve ever stayed in! We spent three nights at @shortstay with five girls flying in from San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia, and New York and were blown away by how clean and stylish this fabulous three bedroom Air Bnb was...The rooftop terrace and the lounge on the eighth floor were also amazing! On a recommendation by Short Stay we went to foxtrot – a gourmet grocery store - to stock up on cheese plates wine and other necessities which were all delicious! The kitchen had everything to prepare appetizers & breakfast. Coffee was bonus (so good). The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the bathrooms were all very well appointed. The open concept kitchen /dining area/ lounge area were fantastic for kicking back after a busy day in Chicago. Views from roof top terrace were urban chic. In terms of location it was great: we walked. to the architecture boat tour, the secret food tour and a ton of spots for great cuisine, shopping & art institute. Check in and out was very easy. After checking out we went to a restaurant a half a block away for brunch called Pacific Standard Time. The food was a treat (eggs Benedict & avocado toast biggest hits) and they even checked our bags. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you’re going to be in Chicago this is the place to stay!

The property is lovely. It is a two story unit, so that’s something to note if stairs are an issue. The beds: they are firm. If you like a firm bed, you will be fine. After asking Short Stay to provide or pay for a mattress pad for one of the three beds (they refused), we went out and purchased one. We then slept well the next few nights. I wish they would keep one in a closet there for people who have the same issue. Also to note, the main bathroom upstairs has awful lighting. So dim and hard to see. You won’t be able to do your makeup in there. This property is beautiful and spacious. You will be happy to spend time here. They have done a great job with this rental!

Beautiful, large space within easy walking distance to the Mart. This was the perfect location for my 2 co-workers and I. We each got our own room and bathroom, had common space and a large outdoor deck with BBQ! The interior is tastefully decorated with every amenity available. I’d stay again!

we had a great time staying here, we took in a cubs game on friday afternoon. took an uber over and it was about 15 minutes to wrigley. also its close to alot of places we like to eat, malnati's, portillos, weber's, ditka's and others. shopping and michigan avenue aint far! the common areas of the building are awesome. the building was clean and well maintained. we would stay here again for sure.

This is a beautiful unit! It was even more spacious than what we expected based on the photos. And it has an amazing patio. The unit is incredibly clean and located in a fantastic location. It is walking distance to TONS of restaurants, shopping, etc. Our only challenge was getting in, which lasted all of two minutes. The directions to get the key were easy to follow, but we didn’t know that you have to go through the coffee shop to enter. Other than that, it was fabulous! I will absolutely consider it when I come again.

We had an amazing experience at this home!! Not one negative thing to say about this Airbnb! It was very clean, modern and spacious. It was supplied with most everything you would need to prepare your own meals! Has a very nice balcony that was perfect for eating dinner on. We had a great stay at the apt! Very clean, nice and spacious, tall ceilings. There's a nice outdoor space off of the living room, and it was nice having 2.5 bathrooms in the apt! Would definitely stay here again next time I'm in town.

We had such a great experience at this location! It was beautiful, clean, and so comfortable. We felt like we were at a resort away from home! We slept so well because the beds were extremely comfortable! We will almost definitely stay again!!!!
